WOW! 579 runners in rain and severe weather! Thanks to everyone who came out!

The Tortoise and Hair 5k & 1 mile run/walk is a fund raising event in which 100% of the proceeds go to find a treatment for Alopecia Areata. This is a poorly understood disease which affects over 4 million Americans. It occurs in both sexes and all races. but children are most commonly affected. Currently, there is no cure. 

 
The run is held on the grounds of University Baptist Church (corner of Highland Road and Leeward)  The run will go through the streets of University Acres and finish back at the church. Click here for more details.
  • Teams (5 runners or more) are encouraged and welcome.
  • Prizes will be given for:
    • Overall, Masters, and Grandmasters male & female
    • Age group awards to top two finishers male and female
    • Largest Team (team with most runners)
    • Fastest Team (based on times of first five finishers)
    • Most Team Spirit (come in costume!)
    • Best Team T-Shirt

$20.00-Adult Pre-Registration
$10.00-12 & under Pre-Registration
$25.00-Race day registration
Entry fee includes food and drinks.
T-shirts donated by Varsity Sports will be guaranteed to all pre-registered runners and walkers who register by April 20, 2010.
